Wallets & Vaults
AzPay offers a convenient way to control cash reserves through the use of wallets and vaults.
Both these items are meant to store reserves, and their API is pretty similar. You can:
- Exchange funds between wallets/vaults of different currencies
- Perform crypto cash-in and crypto cash-out of wallets/vaults that hold crypto-currency
- Move funds in a wallet to a vault of same currency, or in a vault to a wallet of same currency
You cannot:
- Exchange funds between a wallet and a vault (you should move the funds to a vault of same currency first)
- Exchange funds between a vault and a wallet (you should move the funds to a wallet of same currency first)
Also, the main difference between wallets and vaults is that wallets are connected to the settlement (i.e. the funds will be used for paying customers' withdrawals, and customers' deposits will be added to the wallets). If the funds are in a vault, they will not be used. If a withdrawal cannot be completed with the funds in the wallet, it will stay "scheduled" until there are funds enough, and in no way funds from vaults will be used by the system.
